Sliding Barriers in AjmanSliding Barrier supplier in Ajman
Sideways-moving barriers for Ajman residential towers, business parks and yards where a lifting arm or swing leaf does not fit. A helpful option for tight entrances.
Gated communities and business parks in Ajman often have a narrow approach road with no room for an arm or swinging leaf. A sliding barrier moves sideways along the boundary line, keeping the entrance tidy and the approach clear for the next car.
It is a sensible option for a residential cluster near Al Zahra, a shared parking area in Al Hamidiya or a commercial compound in Al Jurf Industrial Area. Trucks and vans there need generous width, so we measure carefully and check the ground for a proper track and drainage. Sand build-up is a known nuisance and is easy to manage with regular cleaning. For very wide vehicle entrances, an automatic sliding gate is the heavier-duty relative. Bring us a sketch or photo of the approach road and we will help judge whether the barrier fits alongside existing kerbs and drains.
A sliding barrier is a low horizontal gate that moves sideways to control vehicle entry where a boom or swing gate will not fit. It uses a motor, loop detectors, photocells and access control such as tags or keypads. It suits communities, business parks and yards. QNAD supplies, installs and services sliding barriers in the UAE.

Product overview
A residential tower in Emirates City has a short ramp to the car park and a low canopy above the entrance. A normal lifting arm barrier would hit the ceiling, and a swing gate would block the pavement. A sliding barrier moves sideways instead.
What exactly is a sliding barrier?
It is a lighter cousin of the sliding gate. A metal or composite panel travels on a track beside the entrance, driven by a motor and controlled by a reader or remote. It is usually lower and more slender than a full gate, so it suits controlled entry to car parks and yards.
When does it beat a boom barrier?
- When overhead clearance is limited by a canopy or slab.
- When a boom arm would look out of place next to the facade.
- When you want a more solid visual barrier than a thin arm.
- When wind makes a long arm hard to control.
What should I plan for?
You need level ground for the track, room beside the entrance for the panel to retract, and a sound base for the motor. Underground services and drains must be marked before any concrete is poured. On narrow Ajman streets, check where vehicles queue so the barrier does not block the road while it opens.
How do sand and salt affect it?
A track in a sandy area collects grit, which makes noise and can stop the panel. Keep the track swept, rinse away salt near the coast and grease the moving parts. Choose a coating suited to humid air, and ask that fixings be corrosion resistant.
How do people and vehicles get in?
Options include remotes, RFID tags, keypads, intercoms and number-plate recognition. Safety loops and photocells should always protect vehicles and people in the path. For pedestrians, provide a separate walkway.
What sets the price?
Panel length and height, materials, motor rating, groundwork, the number of lanes and the access system you choose.
A quick site sketch helps a great deal. Mark the kerb line, the canopy height and the direction of traffic, and your QNAD technician can suggest the track position that works best for your entrance.
Do not forget lighting and signage. A clear stop line, a visible panel edge and a sign for drivers make the barrier easier to use at night and reduce accidental knocks.

What is the difference between a boom barrier and a swing gate for a car park entrance?
A boom barrier is a long arm that rises vertically, controlling vehicle access without physically blocking the full width of the road when open, so it opens and closes in one to three seconds and handles high vehicle throughput well. A swing gate is a full panel that blocks the entire opening, giving more physical security but taking longer to cycle and needing more clearance space.
For a car park or compound with steady vehicle flow, a boom barrier paired with a loop detector and access control card reader is the standard setup. A swing or sliding gate makes more sense where you need a solid physical barrier after hours, not just traffic control.
How fast does an automatic boom barrier open and close?
Most boom barriers open in around 1 to 3 seconds, depending on the arm length and whether it is set for standard or fast operation. Faster cycling models exist for high-traffic entrances like paid parking exits or logistics yards where queue length matters, though very fast cycling increases wear on the motor and gearbox over time.
We set barrier speed based on your traffic volume at survey, balancing throughput against component longevity rather than defaulting to the fastest setting for every site.
Do parking barriers work during a power outage?
Standard barriers stop in the down or up position depending on where they were when power was lost, and most have a manual release lever that lets security staff physically lift the arm to let vehicles through. A backup battery is available as an add-on that keeps the barrier operating automatically for a limited time during an outage.
For sites where an obstructed exit during a power cut is a real safety concern, like a busy car park, we recommend the manual release be tested regularly as part of routine maintenance, not just installed and forgotten.
Do you install ANPR number plate recognition systems for parking access?
Yes, we supply and install ANPR camera systems that read vehicle number plates and automatically trigger a barrier, bollard or gate to open for whitelisted vehicles, no card or remote needed. This is popular for staff car parks, gated residential compounds and logistics yards that want to speed up entry and keep an automatic log of vehicle movements.
Cameras from Hikvision and Dahua form the backbone of most of our ANPR installations, chosen for their plate recognition accuracy under UAE lighting and dust conditions.
Can parking barriers and turnstiles be integrated with a visitor management or ticketing system?
Yes. Barriers and turnstiles can be linked to a ticketing system for paid parking, issuing a ticket or QR code on entry and validating it against a payment or time record at exit, or to a visitor management system that issues a temporary access credential for guests that expires automatically.
This is common at commercial buildings, malls and mixed-use developments where different access rules apply to staff, residents and visitors, and we configure the integration to match each user group's permissions.
How do loop detectors work with automatic parking barriers?
A loop detector is a wire loop embedded in the road surface that senses a vehicle's metal mass passing over it, sending a signal to the barrier control board to either open the barrier automatically or hold it open until the vehicle has fully cleared, preventing the arm from coming down on a car that has not yet passed through.
We fit safety loop detectors as standard on any vehicle barrier installation, since without one there is a real risk of the barrier closing on a slow-moving or stopped vehicle.
Are magnetic autocontrol barriers a good option for high-traffic parking facilities?
Magnetic Autocontrol is a well regarded brand for high-cycle vehicle barriers, particularly suited to facilities with continuous daily traffic like shopping mall car parks and logistics gates, since its barrier arms are engineered for a high number of daily open-close cycles without premature wear.
We would recommend it for any site expecting several hundred vehicle movements a day, where a lighter-duty barrier would wear out faster than its warranty period. For lower-traffic residential or small commercial gates, a more economical barrier brand is usually sufficient.
Is Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors available for gate barrier installation in Ajman Industrial Area 1 and 2?
Yes, the Ajman Industrial Areas are a core part of our commercial and industrial client base, where we install boom barriers, sliding gates, warehouse shutter doors and access control systems for factories, warehouses and logistics yards.
Given the heavier vehicle traffic typical of industrial area facilities, we generally recommend high-cycle rated barriers and gate motors for these sites rather than standard residential-grade equipment, and can quote either after a site assessment.
Can you service automatic bollards and barriers in Al Zorah, Ajman?
Yes, Al Zorah's mixed residential and hospitality developments are within our coverage area, and we install and maintain automatic bollards, barriers and access control systems for gated communities, hotels and commercial properties there.
Given Al Zorah's coastal location, we also pay extra attention to corrosion protection on metal components during installation, since salt air exposure can accelerate wear on unprotected hardware near the coast.
Do you install automatic gates and barriers in Muwaileh, Sharjah?
Yes, Muwaileh's growing mix of residential communities and commercial developments is within our regular Sharjah service coverage. We install sliding and swing gates for villas as well as barriers and access control for the area's commercial and educational institution clients.
We can arrange a free site survey for Muwaileh addresses and typically schedule installation within a short window of the quotation being approved.
Boom barrier or automatic bollard, which is right for a private compound entrance?
A boom barrier controls vehicle flow quickly and is the standard choice where you want fast, high-volume traffic control with a visible deterrent. An automatic bollard gives a stronger physical barrier when raised and is a better fit where actual vehicle-ramming protection, not just traffic flow control, is a genuine concern.
Many compound entrances use both together: a barrier for routine traffic control paired with fixed or automatic bollards along the edges to stop a vehicle simply driving around the barrier arm.

My automatic gate is not opening: what should I check?
If your automatic gate is not opening, work through five checks before you call. They take a few minutes and solve many calls.
- Power. Check that the control box has power and that the breaker has not tripped. A flashing lamp or a silent unit tells you which.
- Photocells. Clean the two small sensors at the gate posts and make sure nothing blocks the beam. A blocked beam stops many gates from moving.
- Manual release. If someone released the gate by hand during a power cut, it may still be unlocked. Return the release to its locked position.
- Remote. Replace the remote battery and try the wall button or keypad. If only the remote fails, it may need re-programming.
- Obstruction and limits. Check the track or the hinge area for debris. A gate that stops partway may have a limit setting that has moved.
If the gate still does not move, send us the motor brand, a photo of the label and a short description of what you see. We book a free site visit, find the fault and send a written quote. See gate repair and gate motors.
Is there a gate repair technician near me in Ajman?
If you search for gate repair near me in Ajman, QNAD is based in Al Aalia, Ajman and attends sliding and swing gate repairs across Ajman, in areas such as Al Nuaimiya, Al Jurf, Emirates City and the Industrial Areas.
Send the address, the gate type and a photo of the motor label through the quote form, or call. We confirm the earliest visit we can offer, check the gate and send a written quote. See gate repair in Ajman.
Where can I buy a gate motor in Ajman?
QNAD supplies sliding, swing, underground and ram gate motors and fits them in Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai. We choose the motor from the gate type, leaf weight and length, how often the gate is used and the power available, then quote it in writing after a free site visit.
We also replace failed motors, control boards and receivers on gates that are already installed. Motors from Beninca, BFT, CAME, FAAC, Nice, Roger Technology, VDS and Somfy can be fitted. See gate motor supply.
How do I choose the right gate motor for my gate?
Gather four facts: the type of gate (sliding or swing), the weight and length of each leaf, how many times a day it opens, and the power supply, including whether battery backup or solar is needed. A solid leaf in a windy spot needs more margin than an open railing gate of the same size.
The gate must also be sound: hinges, rollers, track and rack are checked before a motor is fitted, because a motor cannot make up for a gate that binds. We assess all of this at a free site visit in Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai and quote the motor in writing. See the gate motor guide.
Can you replace the motor on my existing gate?
Yes, in most cases. We identify the current motor, check the gate, rack, hinges and track, and replace the motor, control board or receiver with a unit rated for the gate. Remotes and safety photocells are reprogrammed or replaced so the whole system works together.
If the gate itself is the problem we tell you before any part is changed, and quote repair or replacement in writing. Gate motor replacement is available in Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai, see gate motor repair.
What is the difference between sliding, swing and underground gate motors?
A sliding gate motor drives a rack along the gate so it rolls aside, which suits driveways with little room to swing a gate. A swing gate motor (arm or ram) opens one or two leaves on hinges and needs clear space for the leaves to swing. An underground motor is a swing operator hidden in a box below the gate for a cleaner appearance.
The right choice depends on the space, the gate weight and the look you want, and we advise on site in Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai. See sliding gates and swing gates.
Do you offer an automatic door maintenance contract in Ajman?
Yes. An automatic door maintenance contract puts your doors, gates, shutters and barriers on a service schedule instead of waiting for a breakdown. The equipment list, the visit frequency and what each visit checks (sensors, motors, safety devices, controls) are agreed per site and written in the quote.
It covers Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai. Book a free site visit and we price the contract in writing, see the maintenance contract page.
Automatic door AMC or pay-per-visit repair: which should I choose?
An annual maintenance contract (AMC) suits doors that many people use every day, while pay-per-visit repair can be enough for a door that is used rarely and is not safety critical. The right choice depends on the risk of a breakdown, not only on cost.
An AMC is usually better when
- The door serves a shop, clinic, office or warehouse and a failure stops business.
- Safety devices must be tested regularly.
- You want planned visits and a written report for your records.
Pay-per-visit can work when
- You have one lightly used gate or door at a villa.
- You are happy to wait until something shows a fault.
Read what a contract should cover on the maintenance contract page, or the AMC scope answer. Book a free site visit to compare both options.
What is an automatic gate barrier system?
An automatic gate barrier system raises and lowers an arm, or slides or swings a barrier, to control vehicles at a car park, community or yard. It can be opened by a remote, card, ticket or plate reading, and has safety loops and sensors.
We supply and fit boom, sliding and swing barriers. See our boom barriers and parking barriers, or ask us if you need something else.
Do you supply parking barriers and parking systems in Dubai?
Yes. We supply and install boom, sliding and swing parking barriers and parking management systems with card, ticket or plate reading, booked by appointment in Dubai from our Ajman head office.
For automated or space-saving parking systems for homes and buildings, tell us what you need and we will confirm if we can supply it. See parking management systems and request a quote.
How quickly can you attend a faulty automatic door in Ajman?
Call or WhatsApp us straight away and we will confirm the earliest attendance time for your location in Ajman. Tell us the fault and we will confirm the earliest visit we can offer.
Tell us the address, the door or gate type, and send a photo or short description of the fault, such as a stuck sliding door or a gate that will not close. This helps the technician bring the right parts. Learn about automatic door repair and gate repair.
Do I need a permit to install a gate or garage door in Ajman?
It depends on the property and the rules that apply to it. A gate or garage door inside your own villa boundary usually needs consent from the community or building management rather than a separate permit.
Works that affect public roads, pavements or building facades may need approval. We can advise on what Ajman communities and building managers usually ask for and prepare the technical details, such as drawings and product information. Ask us about your gate or garage door.
Can you automate my existing gate in Ajman?
Yes, in most cases we can automate an existing gate in Ajman. We inspect the gate's weight, hinges or track and posts, then recommend a suitable motor and safety devices.
Salt air near the Corniche and dust inland can wear old gates, so worn rollers or hinges may be replaced first. We then add photocells, a flashing lamp and your choice of remote, keypad or intercom. Learn about sliding gate and swing gate automation.
What access control options work with automatic gates?
Automatic gates work with remote controls, keypads, intercoms and video door phones, RFID cards, number-plate recognition, biometric readers and smartphone apps. Which of these you can use depends on the operator and its control board.
Villas often combine a remote with an intercom, while compounds and businesses add cards or ANPR so entry can be logged. Visitors can be admitted from inside the property. Tell us how many users you expect and we will match the options to your automatic sliding gate or swing gate.
How fast is an automatic barrier?
Automatic barrier speeds range from about 0.9 seconds for high-traffic models to around 6 seconds for standard barriers. Boom length is the main factor, as longer booms move more slowly.
Choose a fast model for busy car park entrances where queues form, and a standard one for low-traffic gates. Speed should never come at the cost of safety devices such as loop detectors. Tell us your traffic volume and we will suggest barrier options.
What are parking locks and when should I use them?
Parking locks are floor-mounted folding barriers that reserve a bay for one vehicle, controlled by remote or app. Use them to protect reserved, VIP or private parking from unauthorised vehicles.
They suit villa driveways, residential buildings, hotels and private car parks. The arm lies flat when the owner is entering, then rises to block the bay. Choose a sturdy model for impact. Explore parking locks and space savers for your building.
Can barriers and turnstiles be integrated with attendance or ticket systems?
Yes, barriers and turnstiles can be integrated with attendance, visitor and ticket systems. They accept dry-contact or network signals from RFID, biometric, QR or ticket readers, so each entry event can be logged.
This supports staff attendance, visitor management and parking billing. Confirm the reader and software you use so the controller can be matched. Ask us about turnstile gates and barriers that connect to your existing system.
Do barriers work during power failure?
Most barriers keep working through a power failure if they are fitted with a manual release or a battery or UPS. A battery lets the barrier operate for many cycles, and some systems lift the arm automatically when power is lost.
Which behaviour you want depends on the site: security areas may stay closed, while car parks should open so vehicles can leave. Discuss this with us when choosing barriers and swing barriers.
How long does installation of an automatic gate or door take?
A standard residential garage door or sliding gate operator is normally installed in one to two days. Larger commercial doors, bollards with pits or custom gates may take several days to weeks, depending on civil work.
Time also depends on site readiness, such as power supply, foundations and access. Fabrication of custom items adds lead time before installation. We confirm the schedule after the site survey for your gate or garage door.
How often should automatic doors and gates be serviced?
Residential systems benefit from service once or twice a year, while commercial and high-traffic systems need quarterly maintenance. Frequency rises with dust, salt air and heavy use.
A service covers lubrication, safety-device tests, sensor cleaning and inspection of tracks, rollers and the motor. An annual maintenance contract keeps these visits scheduled. See how maintenance protects your automatic doors and gates.
Can I maintain my automatic door or gate myself?
You can do basic upkeep yourself, but leave adjustments to trained technicians. Cleaning tracks, wiping photocell lenses and checking that nothing blocks travel are safe tasks.
Adjustments to springs, limit switches, cables or control boards involve stored energy and safety settings, so they should be done by professionals. Wrong settings can defeat the reverse function. For regular servicing of your gate or door, ask us about a maintenance plan.
Does dust and humidity in the UAE affect automatic systems?
Yes, sand, salt air and heat can wear tracks, rollers and electronics on automatic systems. Coastal humidity speeds corrosion, and dust clogs guides and sensors.
Sealed motors, stainless or galvanised hardware, regular cleaning and lubrication protect the equipment. Coastal sites benefit most from stainless components. Routine visits keep sensors reading correctly. Ask us to specify hardware for your gate or rolling shutter that suits local conditions.
How much does an automatic gate or garage door cost in the UAE?
The cost depends on several factors rather than a fixed price, so we quote after learning your requirements. The main factors are size, material, motor type, brand and accessories.
Larger openings, insulated or glazed panels, heavier duty motors, access control and battery backup all raise the price, and civil work or site conditions can add to it. Send dimensions and photos for a written quotation. Start with our automatic sliding gates or garage doors.
How do I request a quotation?
Send your requirements through the contact form, phone or WhatsApp, and we will respond with the next steps. Include the product you need, approximate dimensions, photos and your location.
We usually arrange a site visit to measure and confirm details, then send a written quotation setting out scope and terms. The more detail you provide, the faster we can advise. Call +971 50 495 3512 or browse our gates and garage doors first.
Do you supply original spare parts?
Yes, we supply spare parts sourced from the manufacturer or approved equivalents, for systems we install and for many existing brands. Send the model number or photos so we can identify the right part.
Brands we work with include LiftMaster, Sommer, Ditec, Dorma, Hi-Life, DEA, Roger Technology, Italpannelli, Somfy and BFT. Availability depends on the part and model. Ask about parts for your gate operator or garage door.
Why does my sliding gate drag or stop halfway along the track?
Start with the track. Sand, small stones and leaves collect in the groove and the wheels climb over them, which shows up as a gate that slows down or stops at the same spot every time. Clean the track and watch the leaf move by hand with the motor released: it should glide with one hand.
If it still drags, the cause is usually worn carrier wheels, a rack that has sagged or a leaf that has dropped on its guides. A low force setting on the control board can also make the gate give up early. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors can inspect and correct the cause rather than just turning the force up.
Why does one leaf of my double swing gate move ahead of the other?
On a double gate the two operators are meant to work in step, with the second leaf slightly delayed so the leaves do not clash. If one runs ahead or lags, the usual causes are a worn arm joint, a sagging hinge on one leaf, an operator that has lost its travel setting or a control board delay that has drifted.
A leaf that has dropped on its hinges is the one we see most, because the extra friction slows the motor. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors checks the hinges and the arm geometry first, resets the travel and force settings and then reprograms the delay between the leaves.
Why does my vehicle barrier close while a car is still underneath or beside it?
The barrier should never close while a car is in its path, so a closing leaf points to a failed safety input. The most common cause is a loop detector that has lost sensitivity, often where the road surface has cracked and cut the wire. A blocked or misaligned photocell is the second cause.
Do not leave it in use. Switch it to manual if you can and call for a repair. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors tests the loop with a meter, repairs or relays the cable and checks the detector settings, then proves the photocells and the safety edge.
My parking lock arm will not move when I press the remote. What should I check?
Check the simple things first. Replace the battery in the handset, then stand close to the lock and try again. If the lock runs on its own battery, the battery may be flat, which is the most common reason an arm stops responding. Check the arm for an obstacle, a stone or dirt in the hinge.
If none of that fixes it, the receiver may need reprogramming or the motor may have a fault. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors can test the unit on site, replace the battery or receiver and reprogram your handsets.
What does a sliding gate service visit actually include?
A proper visit is a working check, not a quick look. The technician cleans and lubricates the track and rollers, checks the rack for wear and loose fixings, tests the photocells and the safety edge, checks the limit switches and force settings and operates the manual release.
The remote and receiver are tested, the control board is checked for fault history and the battery backup, if fitted, is load tested. You get a short report listing anything that is worn, so repairs can be planned instead of arriving as a breakdown. Ask Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors about a maintenance schedule that suits how heavily your gate is used.
Should I choose an arm operator or an underground operator for my gate?
Arm operators are the practical choice for most existing gates. They are quicker to install, easier to reach for service and work with a wide range of leaf sizes. Underground operators are better when the look of the gate matters and you do not want hardware on the pillar, but the box needs proper drainage or it fills with water and sand.
Very heavy or wide leaves, windy sites and gates that open uphill can change the answer, so we confirm it on the site visit instead of choosing in advance.
Can a sliding barrier be used where a boom barrier cannot?
That is exactly where it helps. A boom arm needs vertical room to rise and a clear side to swing through, and a long arm over a wide lane flexes and slows down. A sliding barrier moves along the line of the boundary, so low canopies, cables and tight roads do not matter.
It does need a run beside the lane at least as long as the leaf. If that is missing, a narrower lane with a shorter boom arm or a bollard may be the better choice. We check the layout on the site visit.
Should I choose a battery, mains or solar parking lock?
Mains power is the most dependable if a socket is close to the bay, because there is no battery to replace. A battery lock is easier to install in a car park without cabling, as long as someone remembers to change the battery on time. A solar model suits an open-air bay with plenty of sun, but it needs a panel that stays clean.
The right choice depends on where the bay is, how often the lock is used and who looks after it. We check on the site visit before quoting.
Can a sliding gate motor be replaced without replacing the gate?
Usually yes, as long as the leaf and track are in good condition. The test is simple: with the motor released, a healthy leaf moves by hand without much effort. If it does, a new operator can be matched to the leaf weight and length, fitted to the existing rack or a new one, and set up with the old controls or new ones.
If the leaf is bent, the track is badly worn or the rack is damaged along its length, those parts are repaired at the same time, otherwise the new motor will wear quickly. We check this on the site visit before quoting.
Is a solid swing gate a problem in strong wind?
A solid leaf acts like a sail. In a strong gust it can push against the operator, trip the obstruction setting or, in the worst case, bend the arm. Louvred or slatted leaves catch less wind, and heavier operators with an electric lock hold a closed gate steady.
If your gate faces open ground or a gap between buildings, mention it on the site visit. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors can choose an operator rated for the leaf size and set the force limits so wind alone does not stop the gate.
What entry control can be fitted to a sliding barrier?
Almost any common method: RFID tags or cards, long-range readers, keypads, intercoms, remote handsets, ticket machines and number-plate recognition cameras. The control board takes a signal from the reader and opens the barrier, then holds it open until the loop confirms the car has gone.
For a gated community or business park we normally link the barrier to a system that records who entered and when. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors can match the reader to your existing access control if you already have one.
What happens if someone drives over a raised parking lock?
A parking lock is built to stop a car rolling in, not to withstand a car driving through it. A slow bump from a bumper is normally fine, but a heavy impact can bend the arm or loosen the base plate. That is why we fix the plate to a solid floor with proper anchors and fit an arm strong enough for the bay.
If an arm has been hit, stop using it and have the arm and the anchors checked. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors repairs and replaces arms and refixes loose base plates.
Can I add a keypad, intercom or phone control to my existing sliding gate?
In most cases, yes. Modern control boards have inputs for keypads, intercoms, card readers and GSM or Wi-Fi modules, and an older board can be replaced with a new one without touching the motor.
What matters is the board you already have and where the cables can run. We check the board, the wiring route to the entrance and how many users need access, then recommend the simplest route. Details of the options are on our pages for GSM and Wi-Fi gate openers and remote controls and receivers.
What does a technician check before automating my manual swing gate?
The gate must be in good shape first. We check that the leaves hang true and swing freely by hand, that the hinges are not worn and that the pillars are solid enough to carry an operator. We also check how far each leaf opens, whether the ground allows full travel and where power and cables can run.
Any repair to the hinges or leaf is done before the operators go on, because automation will find every weak point in a gate that has been pushed by hand for years.
How often should a busy sliding barrier be checked?
It depends on how many vehicles pass each day, but the pattern is the same: heavy use means more wear on the track, wheels and drive, and dust and heat shorten the life of the electronics. Busy entrances benefit from a scheduled visit rather than a call after a breakdown.
A visit cleans the track, checks the drive and rollers, tests the loops, photocells and safety edge, reviews the control settings and checks the lights. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors can set a schedule to match your traffic, and we write down what we find so patterns show up early.
Can one system manage parking locks for a whole building?
Yes. A building can run many locks, each with its own handset, or share a system that lets the management office add and remove users. For residents, that means a lost handset can be cancelled without changing every lock in the car park.
It helps to decide this before installation, because the lock model and the control method affect how users are added later. Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors can advise on options on site and quote the number of locks and the controls together.
Should I choose a gate motor with a battery backup?
Yes, if you rely on the gate every day or need it to secure the property during a power cut. A backup battery lets the operator continue for a limited number of cycles when mains power fails, and it can also be paired with solar charging. Without it, you can still release the gate manually, but that leaves the entrance open or closed until you intervene.
Battery capacity depends on the operator and usage, so we size it during the site visit for your sliding gate.
Can a turnstile handle wheelchair users and luggage?
A standard turnstile is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or large luggage, so an accessible lane is normally installed beside it. This may be a wider swing barrier gate that opens with the same credential. Building and safety guidance usually expects an accessible route at controlled entrances.
We plan both lanes together. Read about turnstile gates and swing gate barriers.
Can barriers and turnstiles work with RFID cards or number plate recognition?
Yes. Most modern barriers, gates and turnstiles accept inputs from RFID readers, keypads, intercoms, biometric devices and number plate recognition systems through standard relay or network connections. The reader tells the controller a valid credential was presented, and the barrier opens.
The software that stores permissions is chosen separately, so compatibility matters at the design stage. Tell us what system you use, and we will match it with suitable barriers and turnstiles.
What information should I give when requesting a quotation for a door or gate?
Give the type of product, the opening width and height, the location, and how you plan to use it. Photos of the entrance and any existing door or gate speed up the assessment considerably. Mention access control, power availability, colour preferences and whether you need removal of an old unit.
Send these details by WhatsApp or the contact form and we will confirm what is needed at a site visit. See our door services and gate services.
Do I need permission from my landlord or community management to install a gate or shutter?
In most rented or managed properties, yes. Requirements vary by authority, community and property type, and changes to facades, boundaries or shared entrances often need written approval. Check with your landlord or building management before ordering.
We can supply technical drawings and product details for the approval request. See our gates and residential shutters services.
