How we research, write, review and update the guides and project pages on this website.
What we write about
We write about the equipment and services we supply, install, repair and maintain: automatic doors, garage doors, gates, rolling shutters, high-speed doors, barriers, bollards and access control.
How content is researched
Guides are based on jobs our team carries out on site, on the documentation of the products we fit, and, where safety is involved, on published standards and the rules of the relevant authorities.
Who writes and reviews it
Content is published under the byline QNAD Team. Pages are written from our own job records and the product data we hold. We have not yet published the names of individual reviewers; until we do, the byline stands for the company as a whole, and any error you report is checked and corrected.
Standards and safety wording
When we mention a standard or an authority we name it and link to its official website so you can read the source. We write that equipment is designed with reference to a standard and we do not state that a product is certified unless a certificate is shown.
No prices published
We do not publish prices on this website. The cost depends on the site, the size and the equipment, so we give a written quote after a free site visit. Book a free site visit.
Project dates
A project page shows 'Completed' with a month and year only when the owner has confirmed the completion date. Otherwise it shows 'Added' with the month the page was published on this site, which is not necessarily the month the work was finished.
Updates
We revise a page when the products we fit, the standards it refers to or the services we offer change. Where a page shows a last updated date, it is the date of the latest revision.
Corrections
If you find something that is wrong or out of date, tell us. We check it, correct the page and update its date.
