Automatic Systems is a Belgian company based in Wavre that designs and manufactures secure entrance control equipment. Its pedestrian range includes speed gates, tripod turnstiles, full-height turnstiles and security doors, and its vehicle range includes barriers, rising bollards and road blockers. We install, repair and maintain Automatic Systems equipment for offices, industrial sites and secure buildings in Ajman and across Ajman.
Speed gates use optical sensors and moving flaps or glass wings to let one person through at a time. They sit in busy lobbies, so faults are noticed quickly. Typical causes of trouble are listed below.
Our turnstiles and speed gates page describes the service.
Security doors and mantrap-style portals control who enters a sensitive area, often in interlocked pairs. Faults include door motors that stall, interlock logic that holds both doors shut, worn rollers and sensors that misread. We test door movement, interlocks, readers and the emergency release. See mantrap security doors for related work.
Barriers and bollards guard vehicle entrances. We check arm or bollard movement, limit positions, loop detectors and safety photocells, plus the cabinet and wiring. Details are under boom barriers.
Installation planning covers the floor, power, data cabling, lane width, and how the gates connect to the access control system. After mounting, we align sensors, set lane behaviour, test with a card reader and check the emergency release. Maintenance visits include:

Before a visit, collect a few facts about the Automatic Systems equipment. They let the technician bring the right tools and likely parts, and they shorten the time on site. The table lists what helps most.
| Item | What to note | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment | Terminal, reader, controller, lane or gate | Shows what needs testing |
| Users and software | Number of users, software used | Affects settings and data export |
| Door or lane link | Lock type, release, fire input | The signal path decides if a door opens |
| Network and power | Cable type, switch, supply | Offline terminals often trace to these |
Access control hardware in the UAE faces 45 to 50 C heat at outdoor lanes, dust, humidity and supply dips. Readers and sensors near entrances need clean lenses and sealed cable entries. Controllers should sit on a stable supply, ideally with a small backup, so a power dip does not drop doors or lanes.
We check whether a part for your Automatic Systems unit can be sourced before quoting. Where the original part is no longer available, we say so and suggest a compatible replacement, and we do not promise a part until we have seen the unit. Photos of the label and the fault help, and you can send them through send a photo.

Automatic Systems owners in Ajman can book Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors for survey, installation, programming and repair. Localities with their own pages on this site include Al Nuaimiya, Al Rashidiya, Al Rawda, Al Hamidiya, Al Jurf and Al Jurf Industrial Area.
In Ajman, Automatic Systems appears on this site under turnstiles & speed gates, boom barriers & parking barriers and mantrap & security doors. Industrial and free-zone sites such as Al Jurf Industrial Area and Ajman Free Zone usually ask about heavier duty equipment, so tell us how often the opening is used.
No project page for Ajman names Automatic Systems yet. Send us the model and a photo of your Automatic Systems unit and we plan the visit around it.

A false obstruction message is usually caused by a dirty, misaligned or failing sensor, or by something reflective near the lane such as a polished panel or a stuck piece of tape. Dust on sensor windows is the most frequent cause. We clean and realign the sensors, check the cabling to them and test the lane with and without a person. If a sensor has failed it needs replacing.
If the card reader shows a valid read but the gate stays shut, the release signal may not be reaching the gate. Wiring faults, a failed relay, a configuration change or a gate in an error state can all cause it. We check the reader output, trace the signal into the gate controller and read any fault indication on the unit. We then test the lane with several cards.
An interlock holds a door shut when it thinks the other door is open or the chamber is occupied. A misaligned door contact, a stuck sensor or a door that is not fully closing can leave the logic in that state. Faulty wiring between the doors also causes it. We check each door position input, sensors and the control unit, then test the complete entry and exit sequence including emergency release.
First check whether the unit has power and shows a fault code or light. A stuck flap can mean a drive fault, a blocked mechanism, a worn bearing or a safety stop triggered by a sensor. Do not force the wing by hand. Report the symptoms, such as noise or partial movement, and a technician will inspect the drive, limit positions and sensors on site.
Tell us which lanes fail, what the display or lights show and whether faults happen at busy times. Arrange a quiet period so a lane can be closed, and inform reception and security. If the gates link to an access control system, have the person who manages it available. Note the model labels on each lane if they are easy to read.
A boom barrier is a long arm that rises vertically, controlling vehicle access without physically blocking the full width of the road when open, so it opens and closes in one to three seconds and handles high vehicle throughput well. A swing gate is a full panel that blocks the entire opening, giving more physical security but taking longer to cycle and needing more clearance space.
For a car park or compound with steady vehicle flow, a boom barrier paired with a loop detector and access control card reader is the standard setup. A swing or sliding gate makes more sense where you need a solid physical barrier after hours, not just traffic control.
Most boom barriers open in around 1 to 3 seconds, depending on the arm length and whether it is set for standard or fast operation. Faster cycling models exist for high-traffic entrances like paid parking exits or logistics yards where queue length matters, though very fast cycling increases wear on the motor and gearbox over time.
We set barrier speed based on your traffic volume at survey, balancing throughput against component longevity rather than defaulting to the fastest setting for every site.
Standard barriers stop in the down or up position depending on where they were when power was lost, and most have a manual release lever that lets security staff physically lift the arm to let vehicles through. A backup battery is available as an add-on that keeps the barrier operating automatically for a limited time during an outage.
For sites where an obstructed exit during a power cut is a real safety concern, like a busy car park, we recommend the manual release be tested regularly as part of routine maintenance, not just installed and forgotten.
