Why does my Nice gate remote only work close to the gate?

A weak battery is the first thing to check, since a tired battery reduces range long before the remote stops completely. Next is the receiver antenna: a damaged or disconnected lead cuts range sharply. New metal cladding, a new neighbouring radio device or a gate control box moved inside a metal enclosure can also reduce it.

We replace the battery, test the receiver and antenna, and if necessary relocate the antenna for a clear signal.

My Nice garage door opener reverses before the door reaches the floor. Why?

Reversal on closing is a safety response. The usual causes are a photocell beam that is blocked or misaligned, a force or limit setting that needs adjusting, or a door that has become heavier or stiffer than before, for example because of a worn spring or dry rollers.

Do not adjust the force high to hide the problem. We check the door balance first, then the sensors and settings, so the opener is not working against a mechanical fault.

What causes a grinding noise on a Nice swing gate arm?

Grinding often comes from a dry or worn joint in the arm, a hinge that has dropped so the gate scrapes, or a gearbox that has lost lubrication. Sand and salt air speed up wear in this area.

A technician will move the leaf by hand to find where the resistance is, inspect the arm joints and gearbox, lubricate the moving parts and check the leaf is level. Replacing a worn joint early prevents damage to the motor.

Can a battery backup for a Nice gate be tested during a service?

Yes, where a backup battery is fitted we test it as part of a service. We check the battery condition and charge, the connection to the control unit, and whether the gate completes a cycle with mains switched off. Batteries wear with age and with heat, so a unit that worked years ago may no longer hold a charge.

What is the difference between an automatic sliding door and a swing door for a shop entrance?

A sliding entrance door moves sideways into a pocket or along the wall, so it needs no clearance in front of or behind the opening, which makes it the default choice for narrow shopfronts and mall entrances with heavy foot traffic. A swing door pushes open into the room or the street and needs clear space on the swing side.

Sliding doors generally handle higher footfall better and are easier to fit with an air curtain to keep air conditioning in. Swing doors can look more premium on boutique entrances and cost less to install. We fit both, and for most retail units in Ajman and Sharjah we recommend automatic sliding glass doors.
