Either the operator thinks the gate has reached its end, or something is stopping it before then. Limit or travel settings can be reset by a power cut or an adjustment. Friction from a dirty track, a stiff wheel, a dropped hinge or an object in the path can also cause the board to stop the motor.

We move the gate by hand to feel for resistance, then check the settings and sensors. Cleaning the track is worth doing first, and often helps.

If you can hear the motor, the drive between motor and gate is not connecting. The manual release may have been left unlocked, the pinion may have stripped teeth, or the gearbox may have failed. On a swing gate an arm joint could have come loose.

Check that the release is fully locked and nothing blocks the gate. If it still does not move, a technician will inspect the drive parts and tell you what needs replacing.

Yes. Control boxes in direct sun can reach high temperatures, and electronics are more likely to fail, reset or behave erratically in that heat. Dust, moisture and insects add to the problem. Signs include a gate that works in the morning but not in the afternoon, or random stops.

We check the board, supply and ventilation and can advise on shading the box or improving its seal. A damaged board is replaced only after other causes are ruled out.

Parking locks are separate devices from gate operators, so they do not depend on the gate brand. At a building with a VDS gate, they can be fitted at individual bays to reserve space for residents. We survey the bays, the floor and the power or battery arrangements, and test each lock after fitting.
