The motor knows where to stop through stored limit positions. If the shutter stops early, the limits may have been lost after a power fault, or the curtain may be catching in the guides, which makes the motor sense resistance and stop. Check for debris in the tracks first. If the track is clear, the limits can usually be reset by a technician. Please avoid forcing the shutter by hand, since a bent slat or damaged guide will cause the same fault again and can harm the motor.

Almost never. Try a new battery first. If that fails, test whether another remote or wall switch operates the motor. If something else works, the original handset is faulty or needs pairing again. If nothing works, the motor may have lost power, the pairing may have been lost, or the receiver may have failed. A motor is only replaced when it is confirmed dead after those checks. We test power, pairing and the motor before we recommend any replacement.

That is thermal protection. The motor stops when it gets too hot, then restarts after it cools. The cause is generally extra load: a heavy or bent curtain, dirty guides, a stiff bearing or a shutter that is too large for the motor. Heat inside a closed shutter box adds to it. Repeated tripping shortens motor life, so it is worth investigating. We check the curtain, guides, bearings and the motor rating, and fix the drag rather than just replace the motor.

A sliding entrance door moves sideways into a pocket or along the wall, so it needs no clearance in front of or behind the opening, which makes it the default choice for narrow shopfronts and mall entrances with heavy foot traffic. A swing door pushes open into the room or the street and needs clear space on the swing side.

Sliding doors generally handle higher footfall better and are easier to fit with an air curtain to keep air conditioning in.
