Sensor replacement for gates and doors

Faulty, misaligned or dead sensors on automatic doors and gates tested, repaired or replaced by Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors.

Sensors we test and replace

Automatic doors and gates rely on sensors to open at the right time and to stop safely. When one fails, the door may not open, may stay open or may close too late.

  • Motion and radar activation sensors above sliding and swing doors
  • Photocell and infrared safety sensors that stop or reverse the door
  • Presence sensors for the door opening
  • Gate photocells, safety edges and loop detectors
  • Wireless remotes, keypads and push buttons

Signs a sensor needs attention

The door opens on its own or not at all, closes on people, flickers between open and closed, or reacts only at certain times of day. These are reasons to have the sensor tested, because a faulty safety sensor is a safety issue.

What happens on the visit

We check the sensor, its wiring, alignment and settings and the controller, replace the part if needed and test the door again before we leave.

Automatic Door Sensor Replacement in Ajman & Dubai: FAQs

Can an automatic door sensor be replaced without replacing the whole door?

Yes. Sensors are separate parts, so a faulty one can usually be replaced or realigned without changing the door or its motor.

Why does my automatic door open by itself or not open?

Common causes are a dirty, misaligned or failed sensor, changed sensitivity settings or a controller fault. A technician needs to test it to be sure.

Is it safe to use a door with a faulty safety sensor?

It is better not to. Safety sensors stop the door from closing on people or vehicles, so have it checked as soon as you can.

Do you publish prices for sensor replacement?

No. The part and the work depend on the door and the fault, so you receive a written quote after the free site visit.

Do you replace sensors on gates as well as doors?

Yes. We service photocells and other safety devices on automatic gates, barriers and shutters too.

Brands we service

Replacing photocells and door sensors

A failed sensor is the most common reason a gate or door in Ajman or Sharjah refuses to close or reverses for no visible cause. Photocells fail from dirt on the lens, misalignment after a knock, sun glare or a damaged wire, while sliding door sensors lose sensitivity behind dusty covers. We replace both types for villa gates in Al Rashidiya and Al Qasba, shop doors in Al Majaz and clinics in Al Nahda. Wipe the lenses and check the two units face each other first. If the fault stays, send us a photo of the sensor and the controller. We visit free and quote in writing.

How do I know whether to replace a sensor or just realign it in Ajman?
Realign first. If the lens is clean, the two photocells face each other and the indicator lights show a steady link, the unit may be fine. If lights stay off, flicker or the cable is cut, replacement is likelier. Never bridge a safety input to make a gate close, because that removes protection for children and cars.
Can a sensor from another brand be used on my Sharjah door or gate?
Sometimes, because many photocells use simple dry contacts, but voltage, contact type and wiring differ. A mismatch can leave the gate unprotected or unreliable. We check the controller inputs before choosing a replacement and test the finished work, so the gate stops and reverses correctly when the beam is broken.
