High-Speed Door Installation in Al Quoz, Dubai

We installed a high-speed door on an industrial unit in Al Quoz, Dubai. The door is a grey fabric curtain with horizontal aluminium bars, fitted inside dark guides in a black steel-clad building, so it closes the opening quickly and keeps dust, heat and traffic noise out of the workshop.

What we installed

• A full-width high-speed roll door with a grey flexible curtain and aluminium stiffening bars.
• Side guides and a header box fixed to the steel frame around the opening.
• Door controls set up for fast opening, so vehicles are not left waiting at the entrance.

Why high-speed doors suit Al Quoz units

Workshops and warehouses open their doors many times a day. A high-speed door spends far less time open than a manual or standard rolling shutter, which helps keep the air-conditioned or dust-free space inside and reduces the wear on the door itself.

About this type of job

The notes below are general guidance for this kind of work. They describe how it is normally done and are not a record of the job above.

A high-speed door has a flexible fabric or PVC curtain that rolls up quickly in aluminium or steel side guides. It spends far less time open than a manual door or a standard rolling shutter, so it limits dust, heat and noise entering a workshop or warehouse. Sensors or controls open it as vehicles and people approach.

Heat and dust make a closed opening valuable in UAE units, and the fabric curtain is soft and forgiving if a vehicle touches it. Doors on emergency routes can have extra requirements, so confirm them with the relevant authority or the building owner before work starts.
