Most automatic sliding glass door operators (including common commercial brands) drive the door leaf with a toothed drive belt. A belt that has stretched or has worn or missing teeth causes the door to move unevenly, slow down partway, or make a slapping or ticking sound as it opens and closes.
A loose belt can sometimes be re-tensioned, but a cracked or frayed belt should be replaced before it snaps, which would leave the door stuck. We carry belts to match common sliding door operators and check the drive pulley for wear at the same time.
Who this applies to
This answer is for owners, tenants and facility managers in Ajman who are planning a new installation or an upgrade of automatic revolving & sliding glass doors. It describes general practice. The right solution for your gate, door or shutter depends on the equipment, the site and how often it is used, which is why we look at it on site before we quote.
